The Doctor who Turned Detective....

Murray Edwards Honorary Fellow, Professor Serena Nik-Zainal, recently awarded the Francis Crick Medal for her outstanding work on DNA sequencing rare cancers, will be joined at this talk by one of her patients, Josh Barnfather. Josh, whose body cannot tolerate ultraviolet light, was dangerously ill when Serena worked out his skin cancer was caused by a particular genetic mutation: a discovery that saved his life. This is a remarkable opportunity to learn about a scientific ‘race against time’, alongside the uplifting story of one patient’s determination to live.
