Research Interests

Holly is a poet, writer and researcher with an interest in site-specific writing practices and sculptural poetics. Her PhD explored works composed by artists and poets in situ in caves, quarries and subterranean space and her current research continues to navigate between contemporary poetry and artists’ writing, geology, nature writing and the environmental humanities.

Biography

Holly makes poems, books and performances for museums, galleries and sites, including an orchard, an eighteenth-century crystal grotto and a passenger ferry called Matilda. She has performed her poetry and short stories on BBC Radio 4 and at the Royal Albert Hall for BBC Radio 3 and worked as poet-in-residence for the Wordsworth Trust, Spike Island and the National Trust.

Before joining Murray Edwards in 2019, Holly taught at the University of Bristol and worked as a Special Supervisor and Bye-Fellow at Newnham College, Cambridge where she completed her PhD. From 2016-17 she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Henry Moore Institute, Leeds.
