Biography
I’ve been Routes into Languages East Project Manager for the past ten years, 2007-2017, working with amazing teachers in the region who have fantastic ideas for competitions and other projects for KS3/4/5 (National Spelling Bee/Translation Bee/Language on Film/Language BeatZ/LinguaMaths/Language Leader Award and much more), improving language learning and performance and raising aspirations as well as collaborating with the other Routes into Languages consortia universities (67 in total, nationally). Prior to this, I had a long career as a lecturer in Applied Linguistics and EFL and as Director of EFL and Head of the English Language Studies Department at Anglia Ruskin University. As Comenius East Regional Manager 2007-9 and now in my present role, I’ve come full circle and am happily back with Modern Foreign Languages. I’m delighted to be on the Project Advisory Board of the flagship MEITS (Multilingualism: Empowering Individuals, Transforming Societies) project.
