On Monday 27 January 2020, Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon was admitted as an Honorary Fellow of Murray Edwards College.

Baroness Lawrence is a campaigner for racial justice, police reform and strengthened community relations. She founded the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust in memory of her son who was murdered in a racist attack in 1993.

Baroness Lawrence was awarded the OBE for services to community relations in 2003 and in 2013, she was made a life peer in the House of Lords.
